⭐️ Host Tip—Don't worry about visiting us in the winter. The Centry City Parkway and Central City's main streets, including ours, are frequently plowed during snow storms, many times a day and throughout the night. You'll have no problem getting here in the winter!

Instead of paying top-dollar to be locked into a single ski area, staying with us puts several of Colorado’s best independent and major ski mountains within an easy day-trip drive:

Loveland Ski Area (~45 mins): Located right on the Continental Divide, Loveland delivers classic, uncrowded Colorado skiing with over 1,800 acres of terrain, deep snow, high-alpine bowl skiing, and free snowcat rides on the ridge.
Eldora Mountain (~35 mins): Skip I-70 entirely! Drive north along the scenic Peak to Peak Highway directly to Eldora. Famous for its local atmosphere, great glades, and sweeping views, Eldora is also an Ikon Pass destination.
Echo Mountain Resort (~30 mins): Located just above Idaho Springs, Echo Mountain is the closest ski area to the Denver metro and Central City. It's tiny but offers affordable day tickets, night skiing under illuminated slopes, a fun terrain park, and a casual, welcoming vibe for families and beginners.
Day Trips to Major Resorts: Want to ride the big mountains? Winter Park, Keystone, and Copper Mountain are all reachable within roughly 50 to 65 minutes. Enjoy a full day on the big slopes and return home to relax in your own quiet mountain sanctuary.

While it's still a bit of a drive, it's far better than paying on-mountain rates for tiny, bland apartments. And from Central City you're skipping half of the I-70 madness!

Golden Gate Canyon State Park: Just 15 minutes away, this state park offers miles of groomed and packed snowshoe trails. Hike up to Panorama Point for breathtaking winter views of the snow-covered Continental Divide.
St. Mary’s Glacier Trail: Strap on microspikes or snowshoes for a short, rewarding winter trek up to a frozen alpine lake nestled beneath a year-round snowfield.
Maryland Mountain Trails: Right next door in Black Hawk, the lower trails on Maryland Mountain provide great winter walking and snowshoeing with historic mining ruins sticking up through the snow.
