Central City & Black Hawk are two of Colorado's three exclusive casino destinations, and a portion of every dollar spent at these casinos goes directly into the Colorado State Historical Fund, helping preserve the rich pioneer architecture and historic heritage throughout our community.
Whether you are coming to try your luck at high-stakes blackjack, enjoy a fine dining steakhouse, or play the slots, our vacation home sits less than two miles from all the casino action in both Central City and Black Hawk.
While Black Hawk and Central City feature impressive casino resorts, staying in a private mountain vacation rental gives your group the best of both worlds:

You can walk to all of these from the MacFarlane Home.
Located right on historic Main Street, Century Casino delivers modern gaming wrapped in authentic 19th-century charm. It features over 400 popular slot games, electronic table games, sports betting, and the popular Mid City Grill. It’s an ideal choice if you want a boutique, walkable gaming experience away from the bustling Black Hawk crowds. (Parking garage available.)
Situated on Gregory Street near the entrance to Central City, Grand Z Casino is a spacious local favorite featuring over 700 slot machines, sports betting, and a full suite of live table games, including blackjack, craps, and poker. Grab a great meal at the on-site Z Grill or enjoy casual drinks at the casino bar. (Parking garage available.)
Central City’s premier Asian-themed gaming destination offers a unique, vibrant atmosphere right behind Main Street. Dragon Tiger Casino features hundreds of slot machines, electronic table games, high-limit gaming, and popular live table action including Baccarat and Blackjack. Be sure to drop into their restaurant for a tasty quick bite of ramen. (Parking at the Century Casino garage.)
⭐️ Host Favorite—We're really excited to welcome a new Arcade to Central City - Monte Lobo, located right on Main Street. Kids can't go in casinos, of course, but the arcade games at Monte Lobo are almost like a casino experience for families. Plus, the tacos are incredible.

Black Hawk is just a quick 5-minute drive down the road, or you can hop on the free Black Hawk Central City Tramway.
⭐️ Host Favorite—As the region's premier luxury gaming resort, Monarch Casino offers an expansive, multi-level casino floor with thousands of slot machines, live poker, baccarat, and high-limit table games. Beyond gaming, Monarch is home to our favorite rooftop pool and full-service spa, along with fine dining options like the the award-winning Monarch Chophouse, Latin-fusion Bistro Mariposa, and all-day diner Twenty-Four 7.
Boasting a striking timber-framed mountain lodge design, Ameristar offers one of the largest casino floors in Colorado, complete with over 900 slots, dozens of table games, and a dedicated sportsbook. It is also home to the luxurious Ara Spa, a heated rooftop pool, and fine dining options like the Timberline Grill.
Don't want to worry about parking or designated drivers? Take advantage of the Black Hawk & Central City Tramway, a free continuous transportation service that picks up throughout the area and drops off right at the casino entrances! The nearest stop to the MacFarlane Home is on Main Street (5 minute walk*).
The Century Casino parking garage is a free public garage—the city required it in order to allow the casino to open. You can park there for anywhere you want to go in Central City. You can also park at the Big-T lot which is at the bottom of the Central City Parkway and Main Street. Don't park at the Dostal Alley lot unless you're going directly into Dostal Alley—they are pretty strict about that.
In Black Hawk, we usually valet our car at Monarch or Ameristar. It's free, provides immediate access to the casinos, and the rest of Black Hawk is easily walkable.
Just a quick note about walking here. It's a lovely street, but pace yourself. It's all downhill from MacFarlane Home, which means it's uphill on the way home—and you're at 8,500 feet above sea level. Just keep that in mind.
